Alabama Studies Weekly comes in 28 colorful weekly units that look and feel like real newspapers. These are shipped in four shipments, or quarters, each containing seven weekly curriculum newspapers.

This fourth grade classroom newspaper is based on the Alabama state standards for social studies.

Each fourth grade weekly newspaper contains a social studies lesson, current event that relates to the history lesson being presented, regions article, biographical spotlight of a prominent Alabama citizen, wildlife article, arts and crafts, crossword puzzle, comic strip, and much more.

A teacher supplement is included with each subscription for 10 or more copies. The teacher supplement for each weekly newspaper contains discussion questions, answers to crossword puzzles and other activities; a weekly assessment, and more.

This is an ideal tool to help students prepare with non-fiction reading and comprehension for Alabama ARMT testing. Schools utilizing Alabama Studies Weekly demonstrate stronger reading scores than the state-combined average of 78.86 percent for students meeting or exceeding standards on the Alabama ARMT reading assessment. Students meeting or exceeding standards who used Alabama Studies Weekly total 82.95 percent, which is 4.10 percent more.
