Arkansas Studies Weekly comes in 28 classroom newspapers that look and feel like real newspapers. These are shipped in four shipments, or quarters, each containing 7 weekly curriculum newspapers. Now state adopted by the Arkansas DOE.

This fourth grade classroom newspaper is based on the Arkansas state standards for social studies. It teaches U.S. and regional history from an Arkansas perspective.

Each fourth grade weekly newspaper contains a social studies lesson; a current event that relates to the history lesson being presented; a regions article; a biographical spotlight of a prominent Arkansas citizen; an Arkansas wildlife article; arts and crafts; crossword puzzle; a comic strip of Arkansas Kids, and much more.

A teacher supplement is included with each subscription for ten or more copies. The teacher supplement for each weekly newspaper contains discussion questions, answers to crossword puzzles and other activities; a weekly assessment, and more.

This is an ideal tool to help students prepare with non-fiction reading and comprehension for the Arkansas NORMES state reading assessment. Schools utilizing Arkansas Studies Weekly demonstrate stronger reading scores than the state combined average of 69 percent for students scoring proficient or advanced on the Arkansas NORMES state reading assessment.
