This classroom newspaper is based on North Carolina's state standards for third grade social studies. Each third grade weekly newspaper contains a standards-based social studies lesson; a current event that relates to the lesson being presented, a regions article; leadership biographical spotlights; North Carolina Cities; North Carolina wildlife articles; arts and crafts; crossword puzzle; character education; a comic strip of North Carolina Kids; and much more.

A teacher supplement is included with each subscription for ten or more copies. The teacher supplement for each weekly newspaper contains discussion questions, answers to crossword puzzles and other activities; a weekly assessment, and more.
