Week 1 - Numbers
Students will explore number facts and number families, including doubles.
Week 2 - Patterns
Students will use manipulatives, number lines and models to develop pattern rules through various representations.
Week 3 - More Numbers
Students will practice reading, writing and ordering numbers. They will explore base 10 relationships.
Week 4 - Add and Subtract
Students will practice addition and subtraction and estimating sums and differences.
Week 5 - Calendar Patterns
Students will investigate patterns on the calendar and solve riddles involving calendar dates and days of the week.
Week 6 - Place Value
Students will work with place value and begin to explore patterns that occur when working with odd and even numbers.
Week 7 - Solving Problems
Students will explore various methods of solving simple arithmetic problems using charts, manipulatives and puzzles.
Week 8 - Shapes
Students will begin developing fluency in discussing geometry. They will explore equivalency and practice measuring.
Week 9 - Building Shapes
Students will investigate, measure, compose and decompose two-dimensional figures.
Week 10 - Solids
Students will investigate 3-D figures and will explore faces, edges and vertices.
Week 11 - Measure It!
Students will understand the meaning and the process of linear measurement using standard, non-standard and metric units.
Week 12 - Measuring Shapes
Students will apply their knowledge of measurement to two-dimensional figures, including finding perimeter.
Week 13 - What is Your Place?
Students will develop fluency in place value and practice multi-digit addition and subtraction.
Week 14 - Measure It!
Students will use and understand various representations to depict and analyze data.
Week 15 - On the Line
Students will locate numbers on the number line and build a foundation for making the connection between addition and multiplication.
Week 16 - Let's Multiply
Students will investigate basic multiplication concepts and skills and begin to understand the relationship between repeated addition/skip counting and multiplication.
Week 17 - Multiplication in Your World
Students will continue to explore multiplication concepts and skills.
Week 18 - Fractions
Students will investigate multiple representations of fractions, including manipulatives, money, time and number lines.
Week 19 - Parts and Wholes
Students will continue to explore fractions using various representations. They will model equal to, less than or more than one-half.
Week 20 - Problem Solving with Fractions
Students will work with fractions to develop problem-solving strategies.
Week 21 - Patterns Everywhere
Students will extend their knowledge of patterns, numbers and multiplication.
Week 22 - Problem Solving with Patterns
Students will use patterns to solve problems and will generalize patterns working with odd and even numbers.
Week 23 - Working with Data
Students will collect and organize data. They will read, interpret and analyze data in a variety of tables and graphs.
Week 24 - Probability
Students will work with basic concepts of probability. They will explain whether a real event is likely or unlikely and will predict outcomes.
Week 25 - Mental Math
Students will develop fluency with mental computations, including estimation and regrouping.
Week 26 - Let's Get Moving
Students will investigate geometry and transformations. They will reflect, rotate and translate shapes.
Week 27 - Flip It!
Students will explore inverse relationships as they solve problems.
Week 28 - Do You Remember?
Students will review math vocabulary to improve fluency and reinforce concepts learned throughout the school year.
