Hi!
I really like your weekly and it is very useful for studying. I also like the fact that you write everything in the format as if it were recent, like when you said "New York Goes to War!" I also like that some things are recent, like reenacting historical events so people can learn about them. In my class at school we use your weeklies for morning work. Bye!
P.S. I also like the jokes in the back. They are very funny! :)

Hello, my friend!
Let me tell you how much I'm enjoying the papers this year!
We went to 90 minute blocks after Christmas. We missed 9 days of school
because of snow. Having the newspapers has helped me keep up with the
standards without relying on the book. The papers cover the material
better. The students love them. We can do 3 of them, and it will
cover1/2 of a chapter. Boy, am I "dancing as fast as I can!" The papers
are wonderful.

Dear New York Studies Weekly,
In working with some 4th grades teachers, I have come across your publication and have been very impressed. I am particularly impressed with your Volume 11, Issue 1 First Quarter Week 2 issue: Algonquians Welcome Europeans to America!
As I talk to 4th graders I explain that when I was where they are, and even much later in grade school, we (students) never received a historically-balanced perspective on New York State history.
I was very pleased in your coverage of the Mahican (Mohican) people and their contributions to New York State. We just came out of the New York State Quadricentennial year where it was a battle to keep spokespersons for the State from proclaiming that Henry Hudson (A) "Discovered" the River, and (B) brought "civilization" to the Hudson Valley.
The final issue that I have to deal with, both with elementary school students, and even my college students, is explaining "Where are all the Mohican Indians today?" When I tell them in Wisconsin (for the most part) they are puzzled. The diaspora of Native People from the Northeast (even the Iroquois to a degree although they were remote enough to be left alone) is not an easy one to put into a happy story. I generally do not begin that story until students reach (at least) middle school.
Thank you again for your excellent publication.

I went to a Social Studies and Literacy class that started last night for teachers in my county grades 3-5 and we were to bring one resource we "couldn't live without" when teaching social studies. I OF COURSE brought some of my newspapers!!! I was shocked at the number of teachers that didn't know about them!! They loved them!!! I am looping with my class next year and going to 4th grade so I will be ordering a different set for next year but will DEFINITELY be ordering again!
Thanks for all you've done!

My mother was a second grade teacher at Mission Manor Elementary School here in Tucson. Last year in remembrance of her, family and friends established a Memory Fund with the money to be spent for the second grade students at her former school. The teachers chose to spend most of the money on Studies Weekly for fifth and second grade classes.
I have been invited multiple times to visit the classes of the two teachers. The children and teachers enjoyed Studies Weekly and the children were delighted to tell me about different articles and what they had learned.
One of the teachers even utilized her copies throughout the year, by purchasing three ring binders for each child and three hole punching the periodicals when they arrived, and then she had the students put them in the binders. This created a wonderful review/re-use resource for the children to take home this summer. The children are delighted and anxious to share their binders with their families and to take them to the library for additional research on topics.

Again, we were quite impressed with your publication. We are a “National School of Character” and have looked at a lot of character materials. Yours is exemplary. We know Georgia Studies will meet the same height quality.

I absolutely love studies weekly. It is the best thing I’ve seen for social studies in quite some time.

I have had the opportunity of using the Florida Studies Weekly in my fourth grade classes for the past two years, and found it to be absolutely helpful for my students. We found at times we got more information from the Florida Studies Weekly and preferred to use it instead of the text. My parents also commented that they were learning so much about Florida, from helping their children with Home Learning Assignments found in Florida Studies Weekly.

I just want to let you know that my fourth grade team loves the Texas Studies Weekly newspaper! We just started using it this year. After we read the first couple of issues with our students, we voted to “chunk” our textbook and use the TSW to teach our Texas history curriculum. We love it! I am a native Texan and have taught for many years. I am surprised at all I have learned about my “native” state. Every issue is very informative as it is presented in a very interesting way, the kids and I love it! I also what you to know that it will be a permanent part of our fourth grade curriculum next year and in the future. Thank you for such an educational resource.

My fourth grade science teacher just started handing out your Science Studies Weekly paper. We have a homework assignment in it tonight (do the crossword). I just wanted to tell you that I think your newspaper is the greatest I have ever read! It informs you on anything you would like to know about that particular subject. This is a great way to teach students, or anyone who really wants to know about science. Thanks for publishing it.

I just wanted to let you know that when the fourth grade teachers met with our principal, we showed him the teacher packet that goes along with the Social Studies Weekly. He was very impressed to see all the standards we will cover using these. The teachers also love all the help that you provide to make Social Studies more interesting than the textbooks (ours are way outdated). The kids look forward to the times when we work in the Social Studies Weekly. I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated this publication and all it does to make our jobs easier.

At our school, formal Social Studies instruction in first grade begins in January. I have been looking and looking for a “kid-friendly” supplement to our curriculum, and I believe I’ve found, in Studies Weekly, just want I’ve been hoping to find.

Thanks so much for your rapid response and assistance. I am thrilled to have found your website for the publications. My grandchildren use them in their classes and I am excited to have them at the middle school level for my students. Thanks again.
