And the Winner Is...

And the winner is... President Barack Obama! Congratulations, President Obama, for winning the 2012 Every Kid Votes Election!

The real winners are America's teachers and students. More than 1.19 million elementary school kids have cast their vote and we couldn't have done it without the support, talent and facilitation of our Studies Weekly teachers! We'll find out very soon if America's students accurately predicted the real election winner. In the last two presidential elections, Studies Weekly's Every Kid Votes students were 100% correct. Will the students have a trifecta?

In years past our mock election "polls" closed a week before the real election. This election season has been beyond difficult for our friends in the northeast due to Hurricane Sandy. Our Every Kid Votes polls were scheduled to close Monday, November 5. However, due to extensive damage to schools, we will leave the Every Kid Votes polls open for the remainder of this week. We truly want this to be an Every Kid Votes event!

Teachers, thank you again. You truly are making a difference in the lives of your students and impacting them in ways that reach far into their futures. Thank you for teaching tomorrow's citizens how to operate our country before it's their turn to actually do it!
