What is your favorite feature of Studies Weekly?
Megan M.: I really find the app and quizzes on the app the most valuable because it really assesses the students’ learning and coordinates with the newspapers that we get.
What do you and your students love about Studies Weekly?
Megan M.: We love using Studies Weekly because the newspapers are interactive, the kids love the app. It’s been really fun using it in my 2nd grade classroom.
Megan's Story
Megan’s favorite part of being a teacher is simple and powerful: her students! She finds joy in watching them learn, grow, and gain confidence, especially when those “aha” moments finally click. One of the greatest rewards, she says, is when former students return to visit.
“My students bring me joy,” Megan shares. “Their ‘aha’ moments when they finally understand something make me happy.”
Over almost 20 years in education, Megan has seen the profession evolve. Expectations for teachers have increased, and the pressure can sometimes feel overwhelming. Through it all, she’s learned the importance of patience and partnership, especially when it comes to working with families.
“Be as patient as you can and keep the lines of communication open,” she advises. “Parents can’t help unless they know what’s going on.”
Megan reminds us that even as education evolves, strong relationships and a genuine love for students are the foundation of meaningful teaching.
