Video Transcript
Speaker: Kaitlyn F., Kindergarten Teacher, KY
Tell us why your students love Studies Weekly!
Kaitlyn F.: They love being able to take a break away from traditional textbooks and having their own little pamphlets. We love being hands-on.
And through the week, after we get done with our activity and our lesson, we get to cut them out, we get to make projects with them, we get to collab with the whole class, and they love being able to work in groups.
And we love the videos that correspond to each lesson and it’s very engaging and it encourages the students to be engaged, and it’s awesome.
What would you tell another educator who is considering using Studies Weekly?
Kaitlyn F.: I would say do it. It is awesome. It is fun. It is easy. It is so easy.
Everything is planned for you. The learning targets correspond with each lesson.
It’s awesome. It is super awesome. The kids love it. Like I said, it’s easy, everything’s there for you, and you just—you can get online. It has all the videos that correspond with each lesson. You have your little handout, your little pamphlets.
The kids love it. I love it. I would say definitely do it.
Kaitlyn's Story
No classroom achievement is as rewarding to Kaitlyn as seeing her students grow to new heights and master new skills. After almost ten years in early education, Kaitlyn has helped student after student discover a love of learning.
As all educators know, it can be a challenge to find ways to reach every student in the way they learn, especially while balancing engagement, interest, and even the strict time demands of the school day.
Kaitlyn tackles this challenge with optimism and finds support in her school community and with her Studies Weekly curriculum, which helps her engage her students with hands-on activities they can do together as a class and in small groups.
She tries to keep an open mind when it comes to fresh ideas, new strategies, and techniques she can try in her classroom. She also finds support in her school community and stresses the importance of collaborating with fellow educators to share ideas and lend helping hands.
About her relationship with students, fellow teachers, and the education community, she reflects, “It’s like being part of a big family, cheering each other on through challenges and successes.”
She recommends that any teacher who wants to engage their students and move away from traditional textbooks try Studies Weekly!
“The kids love it. I love it. I would say definitely do it!”
